The prequel to THE PHILOSOPHICAL STRANGLER finds handsome hero Benvenuti Sfondrati-Piccolomini seeking royal patronage for his art, only to learn that the king has taken leave of his senses. Along with Gwendolyn--sister of strangler Grayboar--and giant Wolfgang, our illustrious hero sets out to reclaim the king's sanity, a quest which will bring them up against the evil wizard Zulkeh.
