Returning to his homeland in Russia, a young New Yorker rediscovers the site of a childhood vision, that of a young woman sleeping in a forest glade. She is still there, still sleeping, though when he kisses her, she wakes and takes him on a whirlwind trip more 1,000 years into a magical past where they are confronted with a powerful witch intent on destroying everyone and everything.
