Two teenage siblings from 21st-century California, Jeremy and Amanda, are spending the summer with their parents in an alternate universe where the Roman Empire is still flourishing. When their mother gets sick, their parents go home to California and get stuck there, leaving the kids alone in Rome on the eve of an invasion.
