The first of the immensely popular GUNDAM animes, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM begins in the year 0079 of the Universal Century, as the Earth Federation is fighting a losing battle against the rogue Principality of Zeon. Using giant humanoid fighting robots called Mobile Suits, the Principality of Zeon has brought the Federation to its knees. Placing all its hope in developing Mobile Suits of its own, the federation has developed a prototype MS called Gundam. Incredibly, a young and inexperienced pilot Named Armuro Ray is tapped to pilot the Gundam, and soon he finds himself battling Zeon's top pilot, Char Aznable, for not only the survival of the Federation, but for his own life.In these episodes, the Zeon forces have targeted the Gundam and the White Base as the focus of their attacks. Phillip Roth's biting satire of middle-class Jewish life is brought to the screen in Larry Peerce's poignant dramedy. Richard Benjamin (who later went on to star in another Roth adaptation, PORTNOY'S COMPLAINT) makes his film debut as Neil Klugman, a poor librarian from the Bronx who falls in love with Jewish American Princess Brenda Patimkin (Ali MacGraw, also making her film debut). Following in the footsteps of WIN A DATE WITH TAD HAMILTON and THE PRINCESS DIARIES, THE PRINCE AND ME is a modern-day fairy tale with a feminist twist. Julia Stiles stars as Paige Morgan, a hardworking, pre-med senior at the University of Wisconsin. A local farm girl, she has little interest in romance and is happiest when dreaming of having a future career working for Doctors Without Borders. All of that changes when she meets Edvard (Luke Mably), the crown prince of Denmark, who is posing as a run-of-the-mill foreign exchange student named Eddie in order to escape the prying eyes of the Danish paparazzi and his princely duties.
